When you hear so many stories you begin to pick up patterns behind those stories. People with SED or ARFID as it is known in the USA tend to hear the same old judgements about their behaviour not just from parents or other family members, but even from doctors, mental health professionals and even supposed eating disorder specialists. Even professionals tend to confuse SED with fussy eating.

Felix was very knowledgeable, kind and understood the root of the problem I have had since a child. He tailored the session to my life and examples that I could relate to and after a relaxing and informative session it felt like the fear around trying new food had been removed.

I have since tried 12 new foods, a few of which I almost certainly couldn’t have touched before the therapy – fried egg for example. I am still hesitant with some foods, but believe this is not due to fear of taste, texture or other associated fears I had before, but more perhaps a worry that something might be too spicy or fatty for me to enjoy. I will continue to work on trying these foods however to see what I can tolerate, I’m sure I will be able to get used to things.

But rest assured, Felix’s therapy has opened up a lot of new food-related opportunities for me. Many thanks.
